Recent Recall
Yesterday Natural Balance did a recall on their Venison formulas for cats and dogs. According to Natural Balance and the FDA, the new venison formulas contain tainted rice protein. This makes me very unhappy since they are a company that promotes human-grade quality and meets stricter quality guidelines. Fortunately, the bags of food I have been selling are not affected by the new formula, thus they do not contain this tainted rice protein. For those of you that have recently purchased Natural Balance Venison formulas from The Urbane Animal, you are welcome to bring back the food for a full refund or credit. At this point we are going to discontinue carrying any of Natural Balance's foods. For those of you that would like to special order any of the other formulas, which are NOT affected by this recall, you are welcome to do so. I am so sorry that this had to happen. Even though this recall is unrelated to the recent mass recall by Menu Foods, it's a recall nonetheless and it disheartens me.
